In my urban neighborhood, the Northern Mockingbird songs include segments easily identified as car alarm sounds, cell phone rings, and the beep-beep-beep that accompanies trucks as they reverse. These sounds are heard throughout the day (and night, unfortunately), while musical tunes are intermittant and less likely to be repeated.
