That kind of brings up another problem common to seashores. If the sand 
is blowing, the wind is fairly strong. You need good wind protection to 
even record.

You can't really get down behind something for wind protection in 
blowing sand conditions. The sand will rain into such areas.

Note that the standard zepplins do stop sand. Keep them on your mics. 
You will need them anyway.
