Our esteemed moderator Doug Von Gausig gave an impressive talk at the Nature Sounds Society's annual Field Recording Workshop Friday night. He was engaging and enlightening with an illustrated talk on the nature of bird communication. It was a great pleasure to meet him in person, and also our correspondent Martyn. In the split sessions on Saturday I was teaching about microphone directivity, so I missed the hoo-ha that reportedly occured at Mele Wheaton's "scouting and listening" class. Apparently something Doug said sparked a heated discussion, but I'll let those who were there report in detail. -Dan ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ |
