I couldn't agree more! To add some emphasis to Doug's comments I would like to comment on the Reference Library I am compiling: This is a collection of over 870 individual recordings of N A birds by 8 recordists. The mics used range from home made parabolas using inexpensive mics to high end Sennheiser and Telinga. The recorders range from cassette to dat. My point is that there is little difference between any of these recordings and the most significant differences are those determined by the distance t= o the bird and the degree of annoying background noise.
