Ciao Gianni: My son has used a Terratec EWS-88 MT (rolls right off the tongue . . ) => 8 channel 24 bit @ 96 kHZ sound card for the PC now for over a year, and we are impressed. He records at most two channels for music purposes, and I don't even know how to use the thing.
