I've been reading the posts here and realized there is a lot of expertise among this crew in microphone matches to equipment and types of recording. I'm just buying a Sony MZ-R50, with some great advice from Walter Knapp about how to start out with equipment and usage. I'm going to be using a borrowed parabolic to record bird sounds. However, I thought it would also be good to have an inexpensive mono or stereo electret microphone. Does anyone have any suggestions about microphones suitable for nature "soundscape" recording? I thought I would use the recordings to provide a background to birding slide shows and backpacking slide shows. ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ |
