The Gibson in question was described as having a mic holder, but
apparently no mic. The question was what sort of mic to use to fix this.

Rich suggested several mic choices, included in which was the stereo or
mono mic element out of a Telinga.

I was pointing out that there is a circuit in the handle of the Telinga
necessary to the proper functioning of the elements. So, just a element
would not do it. Unless I'm in error about the circuit board and so on
in the handle. I recently took mine apart to replace the cable and
convert to a 5 pin XLR to plug into a adapter on my portadisc, so have
seen what's inside. The Telinga was the only thing I was using that
still used the ministereo plug.
