You will see with time that we all have the same values here but not 
the same preferences. Feel free to ignore my advise, but give me the 
freedom to have said it.

The original Dan Gibson dish is a great dish, the mic was worth 
throwing out. imho

I don't recommend a small lav mic for this application as the focus 
globe of the Gibson is much larger than that.

I recommend
1. me 62 sennheiser - a good middle ground
2. mkh 20 sennheiser - a whole lot more money than you care to spend
3. mkh 110 - if found used is a great alternative
4. a telinga mic element retrofit, either stereo or mono.
