I don't have that problem, it's dark, and frogs mostly react to movement. I've never seen any animal I've pointed the dish at get nervous, except humans. And I occasionally do record birds. The reason I might have is to be noticed less. Though the clear dish is essentially like a irregularly painted object. And it's pattern always matches it's surroundings.
