Thanks Rich, I will look into what you suggest, though I am pretty up on what will work down there. We are in an area where short-wave radio is the only means of communication, and even with that, the simplest messages are sometimes super difficult to transmit, due to the 15,000 ft. wall of the Andes between where we are and "civilization". Despite all this, I have managed to acquire achivable cuts of some 350 species of birds, all the primates except one species (super rare), a crocodilian or two, and some fish (!), and a number of anurans. My point was basically to point out that under real conditions, the minor variation in the performance of various components was essentially meaningless. jca ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ |
