I am using an older version of SoundEdit and Deck II that I got as a packag=
e
deal for a good price. I then downloaded a patch from the Internet to bring=
 it
up to V 2.0.7 and the software seems to be working well on both my desktop
running 8.6 and my iBook running 9.x. There are some nice USB sound
input/output options now too.

If you can't afford (or don't need) the latest and greatest, consider some =
of
the older sound packages. Audio software on the Mac has been pretty good si=
nce
the late 1980s.
