Hi Don,
Are there any eradication plans for these deer?

Hi Tony and others,
Those are feral Fallow Deer, (Dama dama). A few of the local Fallow Deer are faintly spotted but many appear to be the so-called ‘Lake George strain’ which mostly lack spots as adults. The species is gregarious. Sambar (Rusa unicolor)
also occur within the city area but are extremely hard to see and are generally solitary. In the ACT we have had three species of deer but the third one (Red Deer, Cervus elaphus) was restricted to the northern Clear Range and adjoining Naas Valley following
a release from a deer farm in nearby NSW, and disappeared many years ago under PCS shooting pressure. However Fallow Deer and Sambar are steadily expanding their distribution.
This would be a good record to post to Canberra Nature Map at
https://canberra.naturemapr.org
Helpful ID points for the 6 deer species in Australia can be found here

Thanks – Sambar can get pretty large

Can anyone venture what type of deer they are? I thought Fallow Deer had
spots, and the three in the image seemingly don't...

We went for a walk around the yellow-loop trail at Kama today and saw 4 deer
near the dam within the loop, and later at the other nearby dam on the
access road from William Hovell Drive. They appear to be a stag and 3 doe.
