very sad news and vale Jean Casburn.  She made me feel very welcome to CoG and birding in Canberra.  I will always think of her at Bluett's Block.

Many of you will be aware that long-term COG member Jean Casburn has been battling cancer for some time.  Jean died peacefully last night (21 August).

Jean was a champion in the fight to have Bluetts Block saved from development, which led to her being the winner of the ACT Environment Award in 2022. 

She was also a loved friend to many of us.
