So now breeding as far south as Paynesville. Though not overly surprising.

Thanks Geoffrey, at the bird bath as a number of them were last season, with some more reports this year.

 

A good place to see Koel fledglings out in the open, subscribers may like to keep an eye out for them at their baths.

Arriving home (Kambah) at about 5:30 p.m. today, I heard my first DY Koel calls for this year. I had to rush off to somewhere else so did not get time to look for or at it. Adults have been in the area through the summer but nowhere near as obvious as in recent years.
