Hi Bill,

Great shot of a male coming into his first adult plumage at 7 years of age. He could be just enjoying the sun while sunbathing or his moult might be a tad irritating for him.

Hi COG list members,

I took this photo yesterday after interrupting the bird raiding my veggie patch.

He flew off a short distance and appeared to "sun bathe" in this posture for about five minutes (long enough for me to go inside and grab my camera).

There is a bower in my back garden so I regularly see the birds, but this pose is unusual (to me).

Regards,

Bill
