Yes, mia culpa, I was going on memory with what appeared in McComas Taylor’s book, not a good policy these days. Nonetheless, the bird I watched yesterday was a Striated Pardalote and, incidentally, the garrulous little twit was at it again early this morning before the wind came up.

Maybe but McComas Taylor’s novel but apt description of the call as Paul Keating, Paul Keating in his nifty little book, Field Guide to the Birds of the ACT.(1st edition) refers to the Spotted Pardalote. That suggestion came from his - then young - daughter that the Spotted Pardalote says Paul Keating
