As someone who uses bird observation data to compile reports through ACCESS I see one of the great benefits of EBird is the use of standard names and geo-coordinates for reports.  It is VERY difficult to make sense of data when there are  - as in the case of the old COG DB - about 30 different "sites" referring to Kellys Swamp/Kelly Swamp/ Kelly's Swamp/ Kelly Swamp Fishwick (sic) etc etc.

From my perspective the eBird reports have clearly described the reed bed where the bird(s) were first seen.  The whole area around Jerrabomberra Creek/Kelly's Swamp isn't that big to search.

I second that. I have noticed in following up the reports from eBirds that the coordinates given for sightings of the Tawny Grassbird are all the same and refer to a spot at the back of the main pond opposite Cygnus, which is not, presumably, where they have been seen. Does eBird automatically supply general coordinates for a known site?... if so this isn't very useful.

I've been following the reports of the Tawny Grassbird/s on eBird but the reports generally don't describe where the bird/s are seen. I understand the initial sightings were between Kelly's Swamp and Jerrabomberra Creek. One of the latest reports mentioned Tadorna hide.

Any advice on the general area where the bird/s have been seen recently would be appreciated.

Cheers
