If you need a bit more of an incentive, May's ebirder of the month will be drawn from eBirders who submit 5 or more complete no-X checklists on May 14th. This puts you in the running for a pair of ZEISS Conquest HD 8×42 binoculars.
Here is a link to the latest news article regarding the GBD: http://ebird.org/content/australia/news/global-big-day-less-than-one-week-away/
You will be able to follow both the worldwide and ACT progress live at http://ebird.org/globalbigday/ and http://ebird.org/ebird/australia/subnational1/AU-ACT?yr=BIGDAY_2016a&changeDate=Set
Whether you only have time to do a 10-minute count in your yard or can afford to spend the whole day afield searching for local specialties, every bit counts. Lets see how well we can do as a group this year. Happy birding!
