Rufous Fantail ... probably a male White-winged Triller ..

Thanks to all those who replied off-line regarding the mystery bird

After checking more photos on line I agree with those who suggested it was a male White-winged Triller .. The photos I saw since posting made clearer the ‘notable (white) strip at the top of the wing’

Sitting at my desk working away, and then a lovely display by a Rufous Fantail just outside the window in the spindly hakea ... first I remember seeing in the garden

Lots of lovely small birds around – Grey Fantails, Eastern Spinebills, various Thornbills, Wb Scrub Wrens, Spotted Pardalotes, lots of Fairy Wrens ... Plus usual corvids, rosellas, and Gang Gangs recently .

Did have a mystery bird a week or so ago - little smaller than a Magpie-Lark, generally black/very dk grey above, white below, with some white in the wings, especially a notable strip at the top of the wing; solid bill. It was fairly still when perched, and moved from branch to branch before flying off. I had hoped to get another better look ...
