Very gracious of you Julie.
It was not naïve of you thinking that your photos would not be used elsewhere. It was reasonable to trust the users of the chatline to have acted properly. Your photos should NOT have been used elswhere without permission.
However, it is good that the person responsible has done the right thing and contacted you and that this particular issue is now closed.
But as several other members have commented, the modern reality is that once an image is put out there, you cannot retain control of it.
Please don’t be discouraged. You have been sharing some very important images of late and many COG members are impressed and grateful.

Hi All,

Thanks to everyone who emailed me privately and via the chatline.

I've just arrived home from dinner with the family, so hadn't responded to any of the emails I received. Please accept this as my personal response to each person.

The person who reposted my photos has contacted me, apologised and explained the purpose of doing so. I accept that and have calmed down now.

I didn't expect to find out from a stranger that photos of the BB Rail chicks were on the Mulligan's Flat facebook page. I knew that they must have been mine. I must admit I couldn't see why they would be on the Mulligan's Flat site, as they had nothing to do with Mulligan's ....  I appreciated the fact that I was acknowledged on the page, but at first glance at the photo section only  I didn't actually see my name or any acknowledgement and that upset me.

As most COG people  would know by now, I love to share my photos and information regarding sightings.
I know that my photos are very ordinary by many photographers' standards, but what makes these photos so special to me is their content ..... the crakes and rails  (and their chicks) at Forde that I have visited almost on a daily basis for some time now.

I am fine now. I suppose I was a bit naïve in thinking that photos I post on the chatline wouldn't be used anywhere else.

I guess I'd like to think that I'd have some say in where they were reposted and viewed.

Thanks everyone for the advice and support offered. I will give serious consideration to some of the suggestions made....

I'd just like to be asked first if anyone wants to use my photos.

All the best
Julie

Hi,

I'm wondering if someone can tell me why I've just seen some of my Forde Creek  photos on the Mulligan's Flat Facebook page? They weren't taken at Mulligan's Flat and I didn't post them there.

They were posted on the COG chatline.

I wasn't approached by anyone to post them elsewhere.

I'd appreciate it if some could explain to me how they got there.

Many thanks
Julie
