Further to Jude's message, I have seen a few YFHE around, irregularly, as the season has been relatively mild in my district.

Also, yesterday I saw a flock of Red Wattlebirds heading south, into the Shoalhaven Valley. They were flying in a tight group, and travelling silently. First true migratory group I have seen this winter-end.

2 Yellow-faced Honeyeaters flew overhead in the paddock 7:30am
2 calling in the back garden midday.

Haven't seen or heard them for around two months.

I know I'm late with a favourite bird vote, but I'd love to note the daily, free entertainment provided by the  Superb Fairy Wrens, who spend a lot of their time putting us in our places - and out of theirs, it would appear, preferably. They are year round, otherwise the White-browed Scrubwren would get the vote.  .
