Not a bird but striped Marsh frog is actually pretty interesting record for Canberra,  the spotted Marsh frog is much more common, usually the first inhabitants of backyard ponds in Canberra.

Hi

Not a bird, but we just "rescued" a Striped Marsh Frog, which was hopping along Cape Street in Dickson. Didn't want it to be squashed by cars, so we took it to the green corridor behind Cape Street.

First time I actually properly saw a frog in Canberra (not just fleetingly in the headlights).

A few years back, early on a Sunday morning, we came across a black yabbie walking determinedly down the middle of Vancouver St in Red Hill. We took it to one of the nearby large gardens that we knew had a dam.
