All this talk about the "winter birds" has reminded me of something I meant to send out back in late April, and May. On the north side of Kaleen where I live I did NOT record a single Yellow-faced or White-naped Honeyeater moving through the garden when I usually see quite a few. I did a few surveys out Sutton/Gundaroo way and all I saw was one small flock of (from memory) 5 Yellow-faced He. I know Elizabeth C and others were seeing hundreds to the south and east of Canberra so where did the birds that usually go through north Canberra go?? Has anyone else seen/heard WNHEs recently? Peter |
