Over the last week there has been again the annual battle between the Aus Ravens and Pied Currawongs over ownership of the big tree in my yard. Fortunately the Ravens are winning and have been nest building for the whole week. It is very hard work for the ravens defending the tree, as the currawongs are in much greater numbers and just keep returning. Last year the Magpies won and nested in the tree. The only time in many years (I think) that it hasn't been Ravens or Currawongs nesting there (never more than one).
