Hi Lindsay,

Agree with the others re. the id as Broad-billed Flycatcher. As mentioned already the whitish lores are key whilst the very pronounced white eye-ring (especially under the eye) is usually more prominent on Broad-billed Flycatchers than Leaden Flycatchers. 

Another very useful feature is the graduated tail of the Broad-billed Flycatcher which is easily seen in the last picture you attached. Leaden Flycatchers have squared tail ends with - all the tail feathers appearing of equal length when held straight (unspread).

Thank you for your views.  While nothing is conclusive, the general feeling is that the bird was a Broad-billed Flycatcher.  Both it and the Leaden co-exist in the Fogg Dam area.  This bird was alone so no hint if whether male or female (if indeed it is a B-b).  Enlcosed is another pic which shows the head more clearly.  Any difference of view?
