In the past Jack Holland has commented that he always knows when a wedge-tail is around as all the magpies in the area "go off". I have alsofound this to be so in Carwoola although at times the Magpies make the same noise, but generally stay lower down, when a Brown Goshawk pays a visit. This afternoon the usual ruckus erupted but the birds seemed to be swooping to the ground. Eventually a very suave fox appeared from behnd some bushes , totally ignoring the Magpies passing between its ears. I really regret being so absorbed that I forgot to grab, let alone use, my camera.
