At the moment we have flying foxes coming in at night to feed on our figs. The birds are still feeding in the fig tree as well...there were several wattle birds in the tree when I arrived home about half an hour ago.

We have a large fig tree in our garden. About 10 days ago the figs began to ripen. In came a few Indian mynas and starlings, also the usual currawongs, wattle birds and silver eyes. We were not pleased but we think that, as the figs ripen there are enough for us and the birds. But, although there are more figs ripening each day, the birds have gone. Why? and where? perhaps the currawongs have gone to near Lindell's place to harass the young koel. What a good photo she took of that young bird.
