Hi Margaret,
A couple of years ago some friends and I heard
a Tawny Frogmouth calling on Black Mt around 11am on our way back from a
wildflower walk. We walked straight up to it towards the call. It
was only about 50m from the track sitting on a nest in the fork of a leaning
tree. I checked about a week later and it was gone
and the nest was at the foot of the tree. I guess it was blown down as
we had had a windy day in the meantime.
Regards
Peter
