whipbird at Molonglo Gorge

Yesterday morning, one (at least) calling almost in the carpark. It seems a somewhat curious locale, given that I'd have thought it was pretty effectively isolated from other whipbird habitat (Murrumbidgee and Tallaganda would be the closest populations to my knowledge, and the Molonglo corridor is generally pretty whipbird-unfriendly). Nor have I ever heard one there, or recall hearing of one; a quick look at the list archives doesn't contradict that either. Someone will doubtless remind me though!

cheers

Ian
