Is the attached the sort of thing you had in mind?  I wondered why it was easier to see through the Russell roundabout then realised that all the trees have been bonsaied to 20cm above the ground!

Paul,

I suggest going to any building site around Canberra and you will get all the iconic photos you want …………. it is trees bulldozed into a heap with a nice sunny, blue background that you are after isn’t it? I suggest the new ASIO headquarters site opposite Blundell’s Cottage (pity Regent Honeyeaters have bred in the area but who cares, certainly neither of the governments in our area) or the new “green” suburb of Crace. Perhaps a photo of the ever increasing piles of woodchips around the suburbs after the tree removalists have been through would be nice. “Bush Capital” !!??? What a load of crap!!!!

And NO, I don’t vote Liberal, or Green (do they know they meaning of the word???) or anyone else for that matter. They are all totally useless when it comes to the local environment!

Hello everyone

I am seeking a suitable photograph to illustrate a page in Birds of Canberra Gardens about Weather.

I had something in mind about the iconic architecture and vista of Canberra along the lines of the composite put together by Mike O’Shaugnessy many years ago, see attached.

However, any suitable photo that is sufficiently iconic would be closely considered, particularly if the colouring and cloud patterns are intriguing.

The image in the book has space for 17 x 4 cm, and it needs to be 300 dpi or better.

So I await in keen anticipation.  I might go out and take a couple of snaps myself, although the sky is a bit bland this morning, and it could be a bit late in the day.

Cheers

Paul
