This little series would not be complete without a peep into the nearby hills known as the Brindabellas.  I cannot promise that this photo was taken at the very spot where ’GREAT VIEWS’ were reported of the Chestnut-rumped Hylacola, but it must have been somewhere around here.  No-one should venture into this maze of forestry trails without Ian Fraser’s 2 booklets on the Brindabellas, which, if in need of updating, at least provide useful mud-maps as well as much detail on the plant and animal life of the area.  In the distance are the great dishes of the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex which, we are told, plays an important role in the continuing program of NASA missions.
