hmmm . . . there may well be significant environmental issues to be addressed. However, given the quantity of granite (and concrete) used in the ACT (in our houses, workplaces, public buildings etc), it is environmentally positive for such products to be transported as short a distance as possible. In principle I would prefer granite sourced from close to Canberra, rather than half way round the world (or even from a few hundred km away - Ariah Park, Cowra or Mudgee etc). Barbara
