I tend to agree with Frank. We would have to look for more evidence than one
observation to claim the 'fires' have influenced the migration.
What I can tell you is the sight of the mass of fast moving co-ordinate
flocks of wading birds was magnificent. The energy displayed was equivalent
to that seen from Green Cape while observing the masses of migrating
shearwaters on a COG trip a year or so ago.
