I agree with all said before but would add Spotted
Turtle-Dove, although that is mostly a Melbourne perspective, where they are
everywhere. Must admit the point is rather lost on me as to restricting the
enquiry to this year, as it is not as if they change a lot. Going back to my
school days when our family would regularly spend weekends at our holiday house
on Phillip Island (Vic), there we always had Fairy Penguins breeding under the
house. That noise (combined with the wind and the waves and
the Short-tailed Shearwaters) contributed more to insomnia than any Koel I
have met. The other one I would add is having a Noisy Miner perched on one's
head and yapping is very annoying. Maybe last one is being shrieked at by a Pied
Butcherbird as it swooped past and bit me in the face.
