My main reason for going to the Swamp this morning after a week away was to see the spoonbill chicks. In this I was succesful in the LH nest. Both the Upper and RH nests were occupied by adults firmly in place (I suspect they were using seatbelts in the gale). The best view of the RH nest was from the dirt mound alongside Bittern hide (from where views were had of the Painted Snipe a year ago). Also present were 3 large egrets - I concluded all were Great but had suspicions about one being Intermediate. 1 Shelduck, DY Dusky Moorhen. Martin |
