No unusual bird report is required for
Blue-bills, though it is always interesting to hear of them in places other
than the sewage ponds. But regular COG observation record sheets are always
appreciated! And preferably, not just filled out for the special birds but all
the bird species recorded. Note the Spangled Drongo remains on the “unusuals”
list. Barbara Allan, secretary, COG Rarities Panel

Little Eagle & Swamp Harrier @ Sewage Ponds
We observed a Little Eagle and a Swamp
Harrier over the sewage ponds between 6.00pm and 7.00pm
today. Also observed 5 Blue-billed Ducks on the sewage ponds.
I have not heard any mention of Blue-billed Ducks in the ACT
recently. Are they unusual? Should I be filling out an observation
form for them and/or the raptors?
