Brown Falcon on roadkill & Kookaburra

We saw a Kookaburra at road-kill (can't quite remember where). Is this
unusual?

It takes all sorts - at Victoria River Downs Station in the Northern 
Territory, back in the nineteen seventies I saw a couple of cows chewing 
away at the remains of a well-cured road-killed cow.
