This afternoon (12:45 to 2:15 ) I went in search of some Hooded Robins I had
seen some time ago near Foxlow Homestead.
At this normally quiet birding time of the day I was fortunate enough to see
not only both male and female Hooded Robins but also both sexes of the Flame
Robin, 11 Diamond Firetails ( including 4 imm.) and at least 5 Southern
Whiteface.
The Flame Robins and Southern Whiteface were in the tree areas very near
the road (Hoskinstown Rd) between the Captains Flat Road and the Foxlow
Bridge.
The Hooded Robins were in the company of the Diamond Firetails and some more
Southern Whiteface about 1km past the track into Foxlow Homestead. Here
there is a collection of old eucalypts, fallen timber and a few Briar Roses
and maybe some Hawthorn bushes
I have seen the Hooded Robins in this location before.
All up I saw 21 species of birds.
