Hi COG list members, (and Owen).

Another perfect day in the Sthn Highlands, (today, anyway). Very cold night last night. Temps in high teens today. Clear sky.

Small flocks (max 12 at a time) of Yellow-Faces HEs (with several White-napes mixed in), were drifting north in late morning. Usual flying from tree top to tree top, and members of groups "leap-frogging" - i.e., stragglers from last group being picked up by the next group to arrive. Intervals roughly 5 minutes apart.

Observed steady trickle of birds for hour and a half, while sitting on a friend's balcony, with the sun on my back, having coffee, while looking south to the very southern limit of the Shoalhaven Valley (Tianjara Falls area) and Sassafras 60 Kms away. Tough life, but somebody's got to do it !!!

Cheers
