Hello Mark,
Common Mynah is a common bird around Bateman's Bay, but is isn't found in plague proportions yet... As for Little Friarbird it's been a year and two months since I observed the first for the Eurobodalla Shire. Since then another two have turned up and they may have bred as my bird was a Juvenile.
Cheers!
Dimitris

Hi all, This is a question for all the COGies who spend time on the South Coast, especially north of Batemans Bay and south of Ulladulla – what is the status of the Common Myna in the area? The reason I ask is that I saw one fly across the road about 5km ‘north’ of East Lynne on Sunday. The area, which doesn’t appear to have a name farm wise, is through a very obvious cleared area where the highway (going north) drops down a slope on a long right sweeping bend before crossing a bridge then heading uphill, still turning right, to the forest where it then swings left to the left. Hopefully people who know this part of the highway will recognise the description. Also, what is the distribution of the Little Friarbird in the general area? I was surprised to see one at the Lake Conjola Caravan Park on Sunday morning before the rain hit. Many thanks, Mark
