Here's the text from Chris Chafer's Birds of the Illawarra, Shoalhaven and Adjacent Highlands web page
Little Friarbird Philemon citreogularis

Scarce, nomadic: Dry sclerophyll forests and coastal dune woodlands. A few at Mittagong in 1960; several coastal records including breeding in the summer of 1968/69 in the Kiama, Jamberoo and Dapto areas; few at Cordeaux Dam, January 1983; single bird observed Bellambi, July 1983; Primbee, April 1984; Barren Grounds NR, September 1988; and about 10 birds at Port Kembla Golf Course, Primbee, August 1994.

Indian Mynas are common in Ulladulla and surrounds

cheers
Richard

[canberrabirds] A south coast question

Hi all,

This is a question for all the COGies who spend time on the South Coast, especially north of Batemans Bay and south of Ulladulla – what is the status of the Common Myna in the area? The reason I ask is that I saw one fly across the road about 5km ‘north’ of East Lynne on Sunday. The area, which doesn’t appear to have a name farm wise, is through a very obvious cleared area where the highway (going north) drops down a slope on a long right sweeping bend before crossing a bridge then heading uphill, still turning right, to the forest where it then swings left to the left. Hopefully people who know this part of the highway will recognise the description. Also, what is the distribution of the Little Friarbird in the general area? I was surprised to see one at the Lake Conjola Caravan Park on Sunday morning before the rain hit.

Many thanks,

Mark
