I have Steiners and they had a fault when new so I
would advise a simple test before you buy (whatever brand). Check that
both barrels have the same alignement. To do this, place them on a firm
base and focus on a small object say at 50 meters. Then quickly alternate
shutting each eye in turn. If the object moves slightly between eyes then
the barrels are not aligned and eye strain will result.
