I'd say the SCG = Seldom Contains Gulls rather than the MCG = Mainly Contains Gulls.  (It's a quiet work day...)

Koel(s) calling constantly during the Australian Open golf coverage yesterday (Kensington)  Also the previous week at Coolum.   My nominations for most-heard bird on Australian radio and television (sports, docos, interviews, soaps, other drama etc) are (1) magpie (2) SC Cockatoo (3) Peaceful Dove (4) koel (5) Noisy Miner (6) seagull (7) Galah  -  depending on location, of course.  Swamphens/coots also up there.

At least 16 Superb Parrots on Mt Rogers this afternoon about 5pm.  A Koel was calling on the lower slopes near Charnwood shortly after.  On 7 December, a Koel was calling on the Spence side (North East side) of Mt Rogers.  Also Koel calling about midday in Lyneham near the archery field today.
