My wife heard a koel near our house in
Scullin on the weekend while I was away. We’re only 250m from Paul’s
place.

more on koels
I tend to think it is also the
bird that Barbara (in Page) has mentioned and others have reported in Hawker
and Weetangera. Or ss that too large a range?

P.S. And who's schlossed? I don't drink any more than the next bloke!

Google Earth suggests that it is about 1.7km in
a straight line beween Chateau Fennell and Schloss Brannan. If the
bird was somewhere close to halfway between it would possibly be in a tree
directly over Anthony Overs' roof.
This would all be happening within the range of
"carryingness" estimated by Geoffrey's tracking in darkest
Narrabundah.

Heard one in Florey for the
first time this year at 4.30 this morning. Presumably the same one that Paul
complains of in Scullin.
