Several weeks ago, I wrote that Maria Lukacs saw a large owl at night flying through and then perched in her yard at Queanbeyan. The description as I got it then, went most towards Barking Owl but she said that she eventually went to see the Powerful Owl at ANBG this weekend. She now thinks the bird she saw could (just on size basis) equally be a Powerful Owl.

As it is a one-off observation, we really don't know but I thought I'd put in a qualifying comment.
