Roger,

 

The HANZAB account says prey ranges up to a kilogram.

 

Male powerful owls weigh 1.45 kg, females 1.25 kg.

 

Complete book of mammals (Strahan) describes common brushtail possum at 1.5-3.5 kg for females and 2.0-4.5 kg for males.

My question is, what proportion of its own weight can a Powerful Owl lift ?
