Don't discount the possibility that the possum was on a branch and the
owl pounced on it, killed it, began eating it in situ, and then decided
to roost on that branch, thereby enjoying a meal without actually
having to lift it away at all. Or it could have pounced on the possum,
killed it and eaten half of it where it killed it, only transporting
half of it back to the roost.
Whatever its state of health when it first arrived in the Gardens it certainly seems in fine fettle now! John Leonard On 10/1/07, roger curnow
