In reverse order, the following places were visited on Sunday 26th Aug.

Tharwa Sandwash: 2 little corellas (different to those seen at Namadgi
VC), 1 Horsfield's Bronze Cuckoo, 78 little ravens feeding on the East
shore. 3 Aust ravens,. Black Shouldered Kite. On dusk I was just
standing watching birds, and could hear some loud puffing, assumed a
jogger was coming, so turned around and a wombat went speeding by,
followed by another a few seconds later, much bigger. I ended up seeing
4 wombats (2 East shore, 2 West). A large insectivorous bat. 6 white
faced herons, 7 Little pied cormorants, 1 LB cormorant, GST, Golden
Whistler, 30 SC cockatoos, 2 Kookaburras, >16 redrumps, 7 swallows
bathed by diving, while 20 starlings bathed from the shore. 4 white
plumes. Spinebill. 3 Striated pardalotes 'singing'.

Castle Hill (Tidbinbilla Rd- near the Corner of Point hut Rd heading to
Tharwa): 3 Diamond Firetails seen, 1 Jacky Winter, 1 Pallid cuckoo, 1
Horsfield's Bronze Cuckoo, 3 Tree Martins, olive backed oriole, 1
skylark, 2 pippits. GST, BFCS. Eastern rosellas inspecting hollow. 3
white plumes. [I saw all these from the main road]

Lambrigg?? (Point Hut Rd about 800m from Tidbinbilla Rd- at the
'Stile'): Black Faced cuckoo shrike. Striated Th, weebills. Striated
pardalotes 'singing'.

Point Hut Pond (Gordon Pond) 52 coots, 4 moorhens, 5 swamps hens- I
mention this because the ABR doesn't list this site for Swamphens, that
I noticed. 5 welcome swallows. 1 may be nesting under the 'outflow'.1
white plume.

I know I have missed something interesting.
I saw no dusky woodswallows, even though I was looking. Amazing what a
few days can change.
