Barking Owl?

I am curious as to whether you are reporting a possible observation or simply asking a question. Yes the screaming owl is most likely to be a Barking Owl. Although the Barn Owl (and probably other relatives) also has a raspy screech. There are small number of Barking Owl records in our region in July to September. A few months ago I reported that Maria Lukacs in Queanbeyan saw one in her yard at night with a torch. She watched it for a minute or so before it flew off. However as a one-off obs, there is not a lot that can be done about that.
