The White-fronted Honeyeater was still here
all of Saturday and Sunday. Several COGites have been here and as it is viewable
on a main walkway through west Kambah, I have shown it to lots of Joe and Jill
Public. Apart from having to wait ten minutes in the cold on Saturday morning,
it was not out of view for more than about 2 minutes in all the times I watched
it on Saturday and Sunday. At about 4.00 p.m. today I got what I hope is
very good close up video of it feeding in the Grevillea. Most of the time it is
so active it is hard to film on a tripod but it is so close that the
results without a tripod are less useful. Same behaviour as before, apart from
today it was feeding on lerp in the Euc viminalis(?) just under the
power line. I also note that sometimes it stops feeding in the Grevillea and
just sits there. If it chooses to sit deep in the bush it is almost impossible
to find. However it gets active again after a few minutes.
